Installation of the combined cycle power unit of 400 MW capacity category unit with coefficient of efficiency not less than 57% is planned as an independent object using the existing infrastructure of Lukoml State District Power Plant, regarding engineering networks of water supply, sewerage, repair and storage rooms and services. The main fuel for gas and steam combined unit - natural gas, the emergency fuel - diesel fuel. Distribution of electric capacity is envisaged into an extensible part of outdoor switchgear - 330 kV

The republican unitary enterprise (RUP) «Vitebskenergo» was set up in 1963. The energy system includes the Lukoml state district power station, Novopolotsk heat and power plant, Vitebsk heat and power plant, Belarusian state district electric station, Orsha heat and power plant, Polotsk heat and power plant, Eastern modular heat and power plant, Vitebsk and regional networks. The installed electric power of RUP «Vitebskenergo» is 3135.6 МW. The length of heat networks is 716?3 km. The length of electric networks is 50,7 thousand km.
